Harper is so much fun at 18 months. She is just so funny and her little personality is really starting to shine. She really started talking and repeating us on our Disney trip and since then she has been trying really hard to talk more and more. Sometimes we can understand her and other times we are at a complete loss for what she is saying. And boy can she scream a super high pitched scream when she is mad or just wanting your attention. We are trying really hard to get her to USE HER WORDS=)
She is wearing 2T clothing right now. Her torso is so long that even some 2T shirts are too short on her little belly. She is still weighing 29 lbs according to her sick visit last week. We go for her 18 mo. appt in several weeks so get all her stats. Have I mentioned how tall she is lately? She towers over everyone in her Sunday school class by about a head. She is like a giant in there=) She is wearing size 6 1/2 shoes and size 5 diapers. She takes a two hour nap every afternoon and goes to bed around 7:30 -8:00 pm and sleeps until 7:30am. She is an awesome sleeper and I have greatly appreciated that;) She is becoming a little more of a picky eater and I don't like that. She has been boycotting everything which is not good. If she thinks she is getting her own separate meals at dinner, she is going to have a rude awakening. Not happening here.
Harper is always on the move. She can hardly sit still (besides reading). She wants to play or be doing something all the time which makes taking her anywhere where she needs to be still almost impossible. WalMart trips have turned very unpleasant lately. Not sure what I'm going to do with her. I'm praying it passes soon!
Harper has started making a new face lately and it is so funny. She will close her eyes really tight and wrinkle her nose and smile a huge smile and shake her head back and forth. She starts laughing and we start laughing because it is the cutest thing. Makes us smile every time!
Harper's Favorite Things:
- Singing and Dancing. This girl can DANCE!!!! It is so funny. She twists her hips and wiggles her shoulders and moves her feet really fast. She also tries to tap like Eden from watching her at ballet and tap. It's adorable. She loves to sing too. We always hear her singing and can't always understand her but you can always hear the tune and know what she is singing. She loves all the songs with hand motions, The Itsy Bitsy Spider, God Made the Big Round Sun, If your Happy and You know It, and likes singing The B-I-B-L-E and the Clean Up, Clean Up song.
- Reading!! Oh My Goodness! We read all the time over here. I am so thankful she loves to read just like Eden does! I do get tired of the same books over and over but that's alright. Harper's current favorites are: Brown Bear, Brown Bear, 10 Little Ladybugs, There's a Wocket in My Pocket, Jesus Hears Me, The Going to Bed Book, God Loves You, and several others.
- Balls. She loves throwing them and kicking them over and over again.
- Blocks. Specifically knocking them over.
- Paci and Lovie. Enough said, she is obsessed.
- Eden. She loves Eden so much! She mimics everything Eden does and they are really starting to play so well together.
- Bubble Baths. So Eden introduced Harper to bubble baths and now she points to the bubbles every time she takes a bath because she LOVES bubbles. Hilarious!
- Playgrounds. Harper really enjoying going to the park and swinging and sliding. She climbs right up the steps to the slide, sits herself down on her bottom, and then slides down. She is so proud of herself for doing it all by herself. It is precious. And you can never get her out of a swing once she's in it. Just like Eden, she LOVES to swing.
- Outside. Harper really just enjoys being outside no matter what she is doing. She will just run up and down the drive way and be so happy. Her little run is so funny and she is getting better and better at it. She really is liking sidewalk chalk lately and marking all over the driveway. She also loves playing with Eden's golf club set and golf balls. She will swing and swing trying to hit that golf ball=)
- Daddy. We have another Daddy's girl. Harper adores Michael and she lights up when he gets home from work. It's the sweetest thing.
- Magnetic Doodle Boards: Harper will draw and draw on her magnetic doodle boards. She loves to erase what she has drawn and start all over again.
- Apple Juice. Harper LOVES apple juice and she asks for it all the time but only allowed it once a day and she does NOT like that at all. Poor thing.
- Eating. She does like eating: bananas, strawberries, oranges, grapes, blueberries, waffles, pancakes, cinnamon rolls, chicken on most nights but not always, turkey, cheese, crackers, yogurt, ice cream, cheerios, eggs, chips and salsa, ketchup, green beans, beans, mashed potatoes, spaghetti, hotdogs, bacon, poppyseed chicken, and I'm sure a lot more. She is really big into dipping foods into ketchup or other dips. Eden NEVER wanted to dip and still doesn't but Harper LOVES it!!!!
- Talking. Harper is starting to talk pretty well. She is saying: Daddy, Mommy, "Eeedee" for Eden, Mimi, Harley, ZiZi, "Peeze" for Please, doggie, duck, all done, juice, night night, bye bye, I Love You, book, bible, baby, bubbles, papi for paci, and I'm sure much more that I'm forgetting right now.
Harper snuggling with Eden's stuffed dog.
We are loving her pigtails lately. Can she seriously be any cuter?
Here is her current silly face. LOVE!!!!
Playing golf!
Bubble time
Harper is trying really hard to get the forward motion but going backwards is so much easier;)
Harper,
You are so much fun and such a joy at this stage. I love watching you learn new things each day! Your vocabulary is growing daily too and you are trying so hard to repeat things the way you hear them. You don't always get it right but I love hearing your interpretation come out, it is the sweetest thing. You are such a gentle giant around your friends in Sunday school and it is so sweet to watch you with them. I am so thankful you love going now and I know Mrs. Diana is why you love it so. We Love Her!!! We are so thankful to have you in our lives. You always put a smile on our faces. We couldn't love you more and thank God daily for you and the blessing He gave us!
WE LOVE YOU, HARPER ANN!!!
