Thanksgiving 2012

For Thanksgiving this year, Michael took off the whole week since he had several vacation days to burn.  The first half of the week we spent with my family and that second half we spent with Michael's family.  It worked out really well.  Lindsay had to work Thanksgiving and the days following so she was able to spend the first of the week at my parents with us.  I was really bad about getting the camera out so I don't have many pictures from the week.  We had a great Thanksgiving meal on Monday evening after my dad got off work and then we had another meal later in the week with Michael's family.  Harper had a rough Thanksgiving week teething.  She was cutting all four of her molars during that week and she was pretty miserable.  I'm just very thankful that we had extra family around to help distract her some but she was still pretty clingy.

My cousin, Joni, brought over her girls one afternoon and I got to meet her youngest, Lynlee.  She is such a doll.  She is several months younger than Harper and Harper enjoyed loving on her.

The Sunday after Thanksgiving my mom and I took Eden to see the Nutcracker.  She LOVED it.  It was really fun watching her expressions while watching it.  She thought it was the coolest thing when the ballerinas did what she knows how to do from taking ballet.  I had never seen the Nutcracker so it was really fun being able to see it with Eden for the first time.  After the show we went and ate at the Flying Fish.  Eden loves catfish so that was a good treat.  We may have to make the Nutcracker a yearly tradition.

Harper's Walking

Harper has been walking for a while now. She was taking 6 to 8 steps a week or two before her birthday and then slowed down a little. Right before Halloween, she took off. She is walking everywhere now. She has had a TON of bumps and bruises the last month but I guess that goes with the territory. I don't remember Eden falling so much but Harper falls ALL THE TIME and I mean some serious falls. I'm hoping she will continue to get better and better very quickly to avoid some of the head banging;)

Halloween was on a Wednesday this year and Wednesday's are our craziest days already so throw Halloween on top and it was wild=)  Eden had school and a fall party at school.  Then she had ballet and then we had to get dressed and out the door for Trick or Treating.  We were loaned the pig costume that Molly wore last year so I had to come up with something that coordinated with a pig.  After some research I decided the girls could be Wilbur and Charlotte from Charlotte's Web.  Eden agreed to be Charlotte thank goodness;)  They were the cutest pig and spider ever!!!!

Our church in the past has had a carnival but this year they added a Trunk or Treat and free dinner and I wasn't sure if many people would participate but it was AWESOME!!!  There were some great Trunks that Eden really enjoyed and then they had some really fun games inside.  They had bounce houses too which are always an Eden favorite.  Pleasant Valley really did it well this year.  After we finished up there, Eden wanted to go to a Trunk or Treat at the church where she goes to school.  She wanted to see some of her friends and teachers.  We didn't stay long there but she did get to see some people and friends she knew.  All in all she came home with way to much candy that we are already weeding out slowly=)

 Mimi with the girls.  I'm so glad she came down to see the girls and she made it to Eden's ballet class so she got to see her.  Eden loved having someone be able to watch her.  I usually can't because I'm man handling Harper the entire hour=(  Hopefully one day I will really be able to watch Eden in class.

Pumpkin Carving

Monday night Eden and Michael planned a date night to carve her pumpkin.  I had found several free stencils online and Eden chose to do the My Little Pony one.  She loves her My Little Pony stuff.  Michael is such a trooper and worked so hard carving that pumpkin.  It took forever and Eden had to go back and forth and keep checking on him, ha.  She even took some pictures playing around with the camera.

These pictures were taken out front by the hay bale that was set up really cute for Harper's party but it rained so we couldn't do pictures that day, so these are make up ones=)

 Tuesday afternoon Eden and I made Nutter Butter ghosts.  I was taking a meal to a family who had recently had a baby so we took them some treats to enjoy with their meal.  She really enjoyed helping and did such a great job on each and every ghost!
