January iPhone Catch-Up

Here are a bunch of pictures from January..

 Jack came over one Sunday afternoon and they played and played.

 Eden and I working on one of her Lego sets.  She has LOVED doing them and I'm so glad she got some for Christmas.  She has a great time putting them together and has done a great job following the instructions in the books.  I was a little shocked.  I really enjoy doing it too when she lets me, ha;)

 Before going back to school in January, both the girls got much needed haircuts.  

 Duke is growing like a weed and is roughly 50lbs.

 It has been so cold that the girls have been having to bundle up pretty good.

 Eden's ballet recital dress came in and the teacher let them try it on and they are beautiful!!  Eden loves her purple ballet dress.  It is much better than the luau dress from last year.

 Michael was gone one weekend and Eden was at a party so Harper and I played;)  She chose to go eat at Moe's.

 Then we went for a treat Saturday morning.  The girls LOVE Dunkin Donuts munchkins and I like their protein sandwiches.

 The Bittle's were so nice and invited us girls over for dinner on Saturday night since Michael was gone.  We had a blast!

 Eden had her 100th day of school and got to decorate a shirt to wear to school for the occasion and they had a small party to celebrate it.

Potty Training Harper

 January 10th was a big day for Harper.  I decided to start potty training on that Friday.  I don't even know why I chose it or really what made me want to do it but I guess I just got a feeling and ran with it.  Every time you asked Harper in the past if she wanted to use the potty like a big girl she would yell and point at me very defiantly, "NO, NO, NO!!!!!!!"  She still didn't really want to do it but that morning I put her straight into panties and told it was happening.  I had already had on hand a variety of her favorite character panties (Dora, Doc McStuffins, and Minnie Mouse) and little candies for her rewards.  She held it and held it and then finally she peed in her panties=/  She didn't like it and ever since she has peed in the potty.  She was even staying dry in her panties during nap and such.  CRAZY!!!!  It took a lot of rewarding and bribing to get her to poop in the potty and then to start using the big toilet but it happened by Monday so she could use the potty at school on Tuesday.  She has been so easy compared to Eden.  I could not be more proud of her.  She wears a Pull-Up at night because she just can't make it all night quite yet but she has been waking up and going during the night lately so maybe it will come sooner than it did with Eden overnight.  YAY FOR NO MORE DIAPERS!!!!

Her potty prize was a set of Mickey's Clubhouse characters and she was in LOVE!!!!  She also got to start gymnastics since she is in panties now.  I had told her when she was potty trained she could start gymnastics like Eden and she has been waiting for a while but she finally got to start and LOVES it!  

New Years in St. Louis

 We left Searcy on Sunday and headed to St. Louis for a few days and to celebrate New Year's Eve with Morgan's family and Lindsay.  Monday we woke up and went ice skating.  We had so much fun!!!!  I had not ice skated since college I think and it was pretty funny.  Eden had never been so it was her first time and she enjoyed it after getting the hang of it a bit.  She struggled getting her balance at first but eventually did all right.  On our last lap around the rink, Michael ended up falling and hurting his tailbone a bit.  It wasn't broken (thank goodness) but was very sore and deeply bruised for a while.  It definitely hurt him for several days and he didn't eat breakfast that morning so he almost passed out from the pain on the rink.  Poor guy.  We are so thankful it wasn't worse!!!!

 This is how Harper and Camden spent the two hours we were there.  We got ice-skates for Harper but she decided she didn't want to do it so we were thankful Jamie had brought in the double stroller for her to hang out in.

Jamie, Lindsay, and I went shopping one afternoon and Lindsay could not resist getting this leotard for Harper and she LOVED it!!!!  Hilarious!!!  She wore it several times over the days we were there.  

 Harper would sing and shake her hips in it.  She had us all cracking up!!!!

We had such a good time in St. Louis and it was so good spending time with Morgan, Jamie, J. David, Myles, Camden, and Lindsay.  The kids played fantastically.  J. David and Eden made I don't know how many rainbow loom bracelets for everyone those days and Harper and Myles are starting to play more together which is great for Harper.  Myles was a little shocked that Harper was talking as much as she was, it was pretty funny.  Jamie was such a trooper being pregnant and not feeling well and hosting us all.  We can't wait to find out if they are adding more blue to the mix or if they are going to be surrounded by pink, pink, and more pink;)


On the drive home we stopped in Searcy for dinner with my parents.  They had been cleaning out and dad ran across some rings and pictures from Panama.  He used to go every year on medical mission trips and would always bring things home for us.  He found some gold rings and gave them to the girls.  He gave Eden a butterfly one and found the picture of the lady wearing it to give to her too.  So sweet and special.  Harper got a round gold ring that is so cute too.
