Harper 6 Months

 Harper was a 1/2 year old on April 3rd.  I can't believe it has been six months already!  She had her 6 mo. check up with the doctor last week and she is a very healthy little girl;)
Her stats are:
Height: 29 3/4 inches (off the charts)
Weight: 22 lb. 8.4 oz. (off the charts)
Head: 17 3/4 inches (96%)

Dr. Stanford said the University of Arkansas should be calling soon to recruit her for something.  She is one tall girl.  He said she is as tall as the average 14 month old.  Kind of crazy if you ask me.  She will soon have to move out of her current car seat into something else.  Her carrier has a 22 lb. limit.  It is SO HEAVY!!!!  She got three shots and has had a huge knot on her right thigh from one of them.  Poor girl.  She doesn't do shots well and seems to be super cranky and feverish after them all.  Not very fun.  

Harper,
At 6 months old you are such a delight.  You are one super smiley girl.  I love that!  You are pretty laid back which is wonderful.  Even if we are out at nap time you do really well watching everything around you until you nod off.  You love your bed to sleep in and want your pink lovey to sleep with.  You still put yourself to sleep which is so wonderful.  You sleep through the nights most nights unless you need help flipping back over sometimes.  You take two 2 hour naps and a third short evening nap before bedtime.

You are a great eater and so far have liked everything.  You had avocado the other night and it wasn't a favorite but you still tolerated most of it while making some super funny faces.  You take four bottles a day.  Dr. Stanford just switched you from Zantac to Prevacid for your reflux and so far it seems to be working really well.  You are wearing 6-12 month clothes and size 3 diapers.

You have realized you are terrified of Eden's hula hoop.  I'm not sure if its the noise it makes or that you were hit by it once but every time she starts doing it in front of you, you start screaming.  Poor thing.  It's pretty pitiful=(

You LOVE Eden!!!  She can still get you to laugh the hardest.  You can't wait for her to get in the car when we go pick her up from school.  You grin ear to ear, which is the sweetest thing.  I know you miss her during her school days.  Eden loves on you all the time which you tolerate for the most part unless she is too rough.  She keeps asking when you are going to get bigger so she can play with you more.

You are such a busy girl and get so distracted.  If you see or hear anything you want to know what it is and where its at, which is a problem when I'm trying to give you your bottle.  You are reaching for EVERYTHING in site these days, especially the remotes and mommy's phone.

You are sitting up on your own pretty well now.  When you get tired you just lean yourself over and start rolling around.  Your Jump-a-Roo is your best friend right now.  You LOVE that thing.  You can jump and jump in it.  You love mirrors right now too.  Every time you see yourself in the mirror in your room you give it the biggest grin.  You think you and mommy are too funny in it.  You love Peek-A-Poo.  We will cover your face with a burp cloth and we will say "Where's Harper?" and you will pull it off.  You think it is so funny.  You do it when we cover our faces too.  It is the sweetest thing.

You cut your first tooth when you were 5 mo and one week old (on March 10th at Eden's birthday party) and then two weeks later your second one popped through.  They are your bottom middle teeth.  You are so cute with your two bottom teeth sticking out when you grin.  And the way you are drooling now, I'm wondering if there are more on the way.  You kind of caught us off guard with them.  Eden got them so much later and NEVER drooled.

You started going to bible class last month and you love it.  It's right during nap time but everyone in there keeps you distracted so you do really well.  Of course, you love the singing and all your friends that are in there too.

You are LOUD, Girl!!!  You talk constantly and your volume is super loud.  I don't know if you think you have to compete with Eden or what but sometimes mommy's ears need a break;)  You crack everyone up who hears you.  You are just LOUD!!!!  Reminds me a little bit of your Mimi and GiGi.  They both like to talk too=)

You are such a wonderful blessing and I could not have asked for anything more. Your smiles and laughs are infectious and the absolute best.  We all can't stop laughing once you start.  You have made our family of four so wonderful.  I love you so much and can't wait to see what the next 1/2 of your first year looks like.

Eden Fishing with Daddy

 Several weekends ago, our church class had a Mother/Daughter and Father/Son outing planned.  The guys were going fishing and the girls were going to Mimi's Cafe for brunch.  Eden loves fishing and she decided she wanted to go fishing so I took Harper to brunch with me.  Eden had a blast and didn't even care if she was the only girl there=)  She loves fishing and I'm sure she loved the time with Michael.

 Ron and Pam Collar have a pond on their land so they let the group come to their house to fish.  Mr. Ron took the kids out on his canoe.  Eden loved it.

 Eden finally caught two fish.  She was so excited!!!  She loved telling me all about her morning.  She had the best time.  I love that she loves the outdoors and isn't too girly for fishing and other things.

Harper and I had a good time at Mimi's too.  Harper did well and then fell asleep so I could visit.  Kelly Bittle and Carrie Miller did a great job hosting us there and had the cutest crafts for the little girls to do.  I got to do Harper's hand print and decorate a frame for her:)  We all had a terrific morning and I'm so thankful for our church group and all the friends we have there.

Harper-5 Months

Harper at five months is such a joy.  She is a great sleeper for the most part.  She has done great with baby food and eats everything so far.  She definitely eats the fruits a little faster though.  She grasps for everything in site and sticks it all in her mouth.  She is trying to sit up some but doesn't have it down yet. She found her feet and hasn't let go yet I don't think;)  She eats at 8, 12:30, 5, and 9 for the most part, give or take 30 minutes here or there.  After eating she plays for two to 2 1/2 hours and then naps for about two hours.  She puts herself to sleep which I love.  She still wakes up sometimes at 5am and needs to be flipped over, which is really annoying to me because I can never go back to sleep once I stand up.  I've been waking Michael up to flip you because he is back to sleep within seconds.  Harper can roll both ways very well now and can get to almost anything with a couple of rolls.  She is so happy almost all the time.  Teething has knocked her down some and made her fussy.  Harper still has to take Zantac for her reflux which I wish she would out grow already.  We go through so many bibs and burp clothes every day.  It is so gross!  Harper is getting heavy.  We are about to have to move her out of her car seat because she is about to be at the weight limit soon which means I need her to sit up so I can put her in a cart so I won't have to carry her in her car seat anymore.  She is still babbling like crazy and is SO LOUD!!!!  We may have a talker on our hands.  I think she competes with people already to be heard;) Harper loves to be sung too and really likes all kinds of music.  She is such a joy and fits so perfectly into our family.  WE LOVE YOU HARPER!!!!

Eden's 4th Birthday Party

This year Eden had her party at River City Gymnastics.  She loves gymnastics and their parties are great.  We had Lydia and Eden's party together so we could split the cost.  I think both girls had a blast!!!  I know Eden was very worn out after the party and then going to Lydia's afterwards to celebrate some more.  We all had a wonderful time.

She loves all the things she got.  Dresses, swimsuit cover up, shirt, Leap Pad apps, pajamas, and lots more.

For Me:  

Eden just had her 4 year old check-up at the doctor.  Her are her current stats:

Height:  42 3/4 inches (94%)

Weight: 40 lb. 6 oz. (83%)

Blood Pressure:  95/59

Eden got 4 shots and for once did not kick the nurse who gave them to her.  The last two times she has gotten a shot she has kicked the nurse.  I pleaded with her and we talked about the correct behavior for when you have to get a shot and she got to pick out a treat of her choice is she did good and she chose a snow cone, so I got off easy and cheap:)  She did cry which was fine and she took them like such a big girl.  I was so proud of her.   Eden is currently wearing a size 5 in clothes and a size 11 shoe.  She loves dresses and does not like wearing jeans at all.  Some of my favorite sayings of hers are:

• When she prays she always says "Thank you Jesus for dying on OUR cross....."  Love it!!
• She always says "Forever" for everything.  Are you going to be gone forever?  I'm going to _____ forever.  Is that in forever?  It cracks us up sometimes.
• She loves talking about God and Jesus.  She asks all the time to see Jesus and when can she see Him and where is heaven.  I love these conversations because I hope she is always asking and seeking answers so she will someday truly know God!
• "Mom, Harper wants you."  I always hear this when she can't get Harper to quiet down by herself.  She is so sweet and always tries to sing to her or get her paci and if nothing works then she yells this at me=)

I will have to remember more but for now that will do.  Maybe Michael will have some good ones.
